Popcorn & Pride
Popcorn & Pride is our monthly queer movie night — a cozy, welcoming space to laugh, cry, and connect over films that celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ stories and experiences. Each month, we screen a different movie (or sometimes two!) that highlights queer joy, resilience, and representation.
These nights are more than just a movie screening — they’re a chance to build community, meet new friends, and share meaningful conversations in a safe and affirming environment. Whether you come solo or with friends, you’ll always find a warm welcome, dinner to enjoy, and good company waiting for you.
Join us for our next Popcorn & Pride night and be part of a growing tradition of storytelling, laughter, and belonging.

Rustin
Join Hope Pride for our next Popcorn & Pride movie night, featuring Rustin — a powerful biographical film that shines a light on the life and legacy of Bayard Rustin, a key architect of the U.S. civil rights movement whose contributions were often pushed to the margins.
Despite organizing the 1963 March on Washington and shaping nonviolent protest strategies alongside leaders like Martin Luther King Jr., Rustin’s identity as a gay Black man meant his leadership was frequently erased from history. Rustin invites us to reflect on visibility, courage, coalition-building, and the cost of speaking truth in the face of exclusion.
After the screening, we’ll gather for a facilitated community conversation to reflect on the film and explore its relevance today — particularly around:
Queer leadership and historical erasure
Intersectionality within social justice movements
The power (and tension) of coalition-building
What solidarity looks like in practice
As always, Popcorn & Pride is about creating a warm, welcoming, low-pressure space to connect, reflect, and be in community.
